Verdict (specs only) Want more continuous watts, more than twice the solar input and the option to add a battery? AC70 (768 Wh, 1000 W / 2000 W Power Lifting, 500 W solar, expandable, 22.5 lb). Want the lighter carry and do not plan to expand? RIVER 2 Pro (768 Wh, 800 W / X-Boost 1600 W, 220 W solar, 18.2 lb). Capacity is a tie. We did not test either unit.

Inverter

AC70: 1000 W continuous pure sine, 1500 W surge, and Power Lifting up to 2000 W for resistive loads like kettles. RIVER 2 Pro: 800 W continuous and X-Boost up to 1600 W. BLUETTI wins on every listed watt figure.

Expandable vs sealed

BLUETTI lists AC70 with B80 (to 1574 Wh), B230 and B300 batteries in Power Bank Mode. EcoFlow’s RIVER 2 Pro is not expandable. If 768 Wh might be too little later, the AC70 leaves room.

Recharging and solar

AC70 takes up to 950 W on AC with Turbo charging turned on in the app (BLUETTI quotes 1.3–1.6 h, and 0–80% in 45 min). RIVER 2 Pro takes up to 940 W, 0–100% in 70 min. Solar is the bigger gap: 500 W (12–58 V) versus 220 W (11–50 V).

Weight and cold weather

AC70: about 22.5 lb (10.2 kg), 12.4 × 8.2 × 10.1 in. RIVER 2 Pro: about 18.2 lb. AC70 discharges down to −4°F; RIVER 2 Pro down to 14°F, but it charges up to 113°F versus 104°F. Both list a 5-year warranty.
