This is arithmetic, not a test report. You still have to read the watt labels on your fridge and router. We use round, labeled assumptions so the method is visible.
Assumed loads (labeled as assumptions)
| Load | Assumption used here | Why it is an assumption |
|---|---|---|
| Mini-fridge / compact compressor fridge | 60 W average while cycling; 100–200 W possible at start | Nameplates vary wildly. A dorm mini-fridge is not a 12 V camp fridge. |
| Wi-Fi router + ONT/modem | 15 W continuous | Many home routers are 10–20 W. Measure yours if you can. |
| LED lamps | 20 W continuous (two bulbs) | LEDs are small. Halogens are not. |
| Total average | 95 W | 60+15+20 |
Energy per hour at the battery, after 85% inverter efficiency: 95 / 0.85 ≈ 112 Wh per hour.
| Duration | Energy at battery (approx.) | Manufacturer packs that clear it on Wh alone |
|---|---|---|
| 8 hours (evening outage) | ≈ 896 Wh | 1000 v2 (1070), DELTA 2/3 (1024), AC180 (1152). RIVER 2 Pro (768) is short. |
| 12 hours | ≈ 1,344 Wh | None of the 1 kWh sealed boxes. 2000 v2 (2042) or DELTA 2 + extra battery (2048). |
| 24 hours | ≈ 2,688 Wh | 2000 v2 is short. Need expansion (DELTA 3 toward 5 kWh) or two packs or a generator. |
The inverter check
A fridge that averages 60 W may still demand a start surge. 300 W class inverters (RIVER 2, Explorer 300 Plus) are a gamble for compressor fridges. 800 W (RIVER 2 Pro) is the first comfortable “maybe.” 1500–1800 W (1000 v2, DELTA 3, AC180) is the class that matches a kitchen compact fridge on paper. We did not start your compressor.
Worked pick
For a typical 8-hour apartment outage with those assumed loads, a ~1 kWh / ≥1500 W sheet is the rational target: Explorer 1000 v2 or DELTA 3 or AC180. For overnight plus next morning without recharge, jump to Explorer 2000 v2 or an expandable DELTA. For a full day without sun or grid, do not pretend 2 kWh is 24 hours at 95 W — the table already says 2,688 Wh.
